they don't necessarily NEED any cap relief in 2019.

I think Talib will be retained at least through ‘19. Not the place to seek cap relief.

They could do nothing to get "cap relief" in 2019 and be in a good place.

Situationally, they may come up with something like a big FA signing they like, in which case they might tinker.

But they have nearly 40 M in cap space, and that's with the following big contracts (8 M or more) already on the books: Donald, Whitworth, Cooks, Brockers, Barron, Gurley, Peters, Goff, Hav, andTalib.

The rookie draft class ought to cost around 6 M.

If they sign Suh for another 1-year that's about 15 M.

If they re-sign Saffold, that's around 8 M or less.

Those moves would leave at least 11 M.

Other guys they make think about re-signing include Littleton, Westbrooks, and Hill.

How much of that 11 M is left depends on Littleton's deal.

In terms of adding players, they have a 1st and 3 3rds.

And the Rams have been absolutely freaking GOLDEN with 3rd round picks.

So....what's to worry?

They don't NEED to cut good players for the cap space to have a good roster.
