These guys can say whatever they want to say.
They don't have to say anything to make me happy. I'm already happy with Goff and always have been.
He needed to improve, of course, and he has. Every year.
What they need to do for themselves is not say such stupid stuff and always try to be an instant expert, or they look like fools.
I watched a video of Chris Carter (who I enjoy on First Things First) being interviewed by Cowherd between the 2016 and 2017 seasons.
He flat out said "The Rams made a mistake! They shouldn't have traded up for Goff, and they shouldn't have drafted Goff."
He was getting all kinds of props for "telling it like it is" and being so bold.
Ok, Chris, take your instant, temporary props. But if you don't eat some crow on that publicly, too, then I don't respect it.
Now maybe he has said "I was wrong about Goff", and I just didn't see it. I don't watch every one of his utterances.
IMO, they are giving respect to Goff right now because they can't do anything else. His performance demands it.
I don't give them any credit for being able to see what's shoved in their face.
I'd much rather credit the guys who could see it before it was in full flower. Hello, Louis Riddick!
They're just like the media in general. They live in an eternal present where they expect us to not remember anything they said yesterday.
Well, some of us do.
Sags, this is excellent!
