I think that is the shallow nature of todays thought process. To me the tough guy image is everywhere, tattoos, piercings, clothing...etc.
So I would love for Jared to keep that boyish look and help this team kick the EVER-LOVIN-CRAP out of the league for decades to come. I don't want him with 5 O'clock stubble or anything else. I want him as is to take the hits and pop up, stand in the face of a rush (as he does now) and still throw the ball on target and remain unflappable.
I loved that he recieved the game ball this week and was as humble about it as one could be.
I like his good boy image and the success he has had with it up till now and in the future.

You know, people are affected by silly image issues.
Goff's appearance is not cool. He is so boyish. He just does not look like a stud.
That shouldn't matter, right? But I think it lingers beneath the surface of the minds of many who want to question him. He makes an unreal throw … and then the camera zeroes in on him without a helmet and he looks like a tall Opie.
Of course, this will go away. Over time, he can--and I believe will--do it often enough for people to say, yeah. He really is elite.
I just think that his image in addition to Year 1 will lengthen the time he needs for people to be convinced.
