Bulger was a very good QB because of Martz. He was well schooled, a good decision maker, and had good fundamentals. He saw the field pretty good,
It was only after Martz left that he deteriorated with his fundamentals slipping and his preparation not being done as well.
He had 1 more good year, but you could start seeing slippage in his game and much of his success that last year was dumping the ball off to Stephen Jackson on screens.
I have never seen 3 QBs out of the scrap pile. (Green, Warner, Bulger) all become so successful. It was a special time.
I don't know why people completely ignore the OL devastation from 2007-2009 and pretend like it had nothing to do with what happened to Bulger. It's this very odd blindspot.
Bulger played well in 2006 too under Linehan. But that was before the single worst years of OL injuries the Rams have ever had.
People who don't account for that stuff are to me not even doing a half analysis.
