Goff really got tarnishes for his poor rookie year. He was a system QB in a really bad system. He had terrible coaching that did little to help him succeed. He also was not ready and needed to learn how to be a pro style QB.
McVay deserves a lot of credit for bring out the best and teaching Goff how to be a great QB. McVay has put together a great system and Snead has put together a great assortment of players on offense and defense.
But Joe Montana had Rice, Taylor and Clark, he had Bill Walsh and all time great coach and he is recognized as one of the all time greats.
Goff is great and we all know that here. We also know that he is still growing and scary as it may sound he is going to be even better down the road.
Snead made a great deal trading up to get him and he was worth the farm we gave away. A lot of times those top QB in the draft wash out but not Goff as he plays great now and seems to get better each game.
He has a strong arm, is accurate with all types of routes, his pocket awareness seems to get better each game and he goes through progressions and makes off schedule plays seem normal.
He also has a great demeanor, being humble and never to high or low. That is they type of guy that will be around a long time.
Oh Yea he is only 23 years old. Give it some time the world will begin to notice .
