And then maybe football. Having lost my Brother to alcohol in 2011 and arguably my best friend to alcohol and heroin in 2012, I root for anyone and everyone to kick demons in the ass. Both my Brother and friend knew they had problems but there was not a damned thing they could do about it. Usually, substance abuse is the EASY part. It's controlling what makes you need the escape that's the booger.
Sorry to hear that bro but I can sympathize had a best friend using heroine and he toyed with friendship like it meant nothing I did all I could but we no longer speak because of it thankfully from what I know he is still alive but probably still fooling people and I'm currently going through a rough time with my sister n law who is a bad alcoholic and pill popper and at this point can't do anything more to help her we been friends since we were kids so yea substance abuse of any kind is a destroyer not only of the people doing it but if not careful it can destroy the people closest to them.
