I like to experience Ram wins in different ways.
Since I have GamePass, I can not only watch the game again, but listen to different radio broadcasts.
Last night, listening to the Westwood1 radio broadcast, I heard Kurt Warner (doing commentary) say that he feels like the Rams are buying a championship.
My first thought was:
Kurt, when the Rams went out and signed Adam Timmerman, and he protected you in the pocket, did they buy you your championship?
When they traded for Marshall Faulk, and then gave him a new contract for more money, did that make your championship bought?
How about when they voluntarily gave YOU more money than your contract provided after the season, Kurt? Was that an installment payment on the championship they bought?
There's an idea going around the NFL now that the Rams acquired all these new guys with free agency (money$$!).
I heard Brent Musburger refer to Marcus Peters as "one of those rich free agents that the Rams went out and signed".
Peters and Talib were both acquired by trade, NOT free agency.
Suh is the major free agent acquisition. I think Ramik Wilson and Sam Shields also were free agents.
But in any case, every team has the same salary cap. This is not a sport where a rich owner can "buy" a championship by having a much bigger salary structure than other teams can afford.
I still have a Warner jersey, been a big fan, but I'm a little annoyed with that comment.
