Thoughts on the Broncos Seahawks

This was a game between two average to below average teams (at least for the first game).
Turnovers, poor Oline blocking on both sides; inconsistent defensive play on both sides.

Either team could have won this game. Von Miller was the difference between the two teams.

The lack of WRs and a good Oline is beginning to take its toll on Wilson. People know how to play him better, their WRs scare nobody (especially with Baldwin out) and he's not escaping as easily as he used to. As has been typical, he usually only has time to throw anything longer than 10 yards down the field if he scrambles around.

The Seahawks RBs look like last year's versions. Journeymen types; nothing special. If one game is any indication, Penny was a waste of a 1st round pick.

As for the Broncos: they are asking Keenum to do a lot more than he was asked to do in Minny. And it shows. The Vikes asked Keenum to throw short and let the WRs do the work. The Broncos are asking Keenum to throw down the field a little further. That means more time and more arm (which he doesn't have); and the Broncos Oline wasn't giving him the time he needed. When rushed, the result was incomplete passes or INTs. Keenum is a limited but smart QB, and the Vikes understood that. The Broncos paid a lot of money for him and are making the mistake (so far) of asking him to be something he's not.

Assuming the Rams play up to their talent and capability, and injuries to key players don't spoil the season, my opinion on the new pecking order in the NFC West remains: LA, San Fran, Seattle, Arizona.
