Somewhere, there could be a Rams fan that has been in the wilderness for 3 years with no T.V. or communication with the outside world. Same thing in 99 (though this probably is not the same kind of story as 99).

Team was building a huge stockpile of talent and then the dam bursts.

Anyone despairing of the Rams in 98 was due for an awakening.

Anyone despairing over how the Rams looked after a move without a veteran starting qb was also due for an awakening when they hired McV.

It's just common.

When teams have stocked up talent they often can break through overnight.
