I'm not so sure, I realize the numbers, but Jones was underwhelming IMHO. Seemed like when he was in the game, he just was not very good. Now I realize beauty is in the eye of the beholder and Mannion plus Allen has looked not very good, but I just don't believe Jones would be that much of an upgrade and again, JMHO....I'd rather sign Matt Moore, but it does not seem like that is going to happen.
I don't believe the Rams(McVay) have any interest in combing through the scrap heap but Jones would at best be a lateral move. Jones has had the opportunity to play for an established offense on a good team and not looked too good in the process.
Mannion's got all of 1 NFL start and you can't even really call it that. This guy's gotta feel like the fates are against him at this point. He got drafted by Jeff Fisher and that regime and the only playing time he's had with the McVay Rams he's had to lead scrubs against other team's starters.
So far, his release and demeanor have not looked NFL caliber to me but the last preseason start, he looked like his comfort level too the next step. IMO, the game slowed down for him this preseason and if he ever gets a chance with the 1's, I think he's going to do better than Landry Jones did with his chances.
