some truth

"There’s no cap disaster looming for the Rams, but the margins they’re playing with are incredibly thin."

I agree with that. They are not going to be in cap jail or hell or whatever at any point. Yes, they are in the midst of turning over their offensive line. And pieces on defense like Suh and Talib are shorter term. But this team is very well set up through 2020. They have cap space, multiple 3rd round compensatory picks coming in 2019 and quite possibly 1-2 more in 2020 (via Suh and Joyner). 2021, admittedly, becomes trickier.

At the end of the day for teams to sustain winning they need a great coach, a high quality QB, and to draft well in the long term. Sounds simple though of course it's not. But the Rams are well on the way to checking two of those three boxes already. And they do have the added asset of being much more of a free agent destination now than most of the league.

And I would add that it's helpful that in the next two Drafts they do not need to look at QBs, RBs, or WRs high in the Draft. TE, OL, DL, OLB, CB, S- all 2019 Draft/offseason possibilities.
