And the giving games away with pick-6's is a valid point.
I was one who wanted to see him with the 1s for a very specific purpose. It's true that the limitations of the feet and throwing motion don't get better no matter who you're playing with but one of the major issues of his subpar PS performance was significant inaccuracy.
It was sometimes so bad that it suggests that QB and WR were not on the same page. After one of the games, McVay alluded to that too. If he ran with the 1s we would have been able to see whether Mannion was at fault for that because we could assume that the starting WRs know how to be at the right spots at the right time.
My position is, bigtime staredown aside, if he knows how to get the ball to the right spot at the right time, he can be adequate despite the feet and throwing motion limitations.
