He was just saying he was glad he was a free agent ... he had been tagged 2 seasons before that. Players don't like being tagged.

Guys focusing on the contract process are not being greedy IMO .

And Cousins didn't get anything that wasn't expected. He was right in the territory for a 2nd contract for a qb in 2018. He got about half a M more than Garopollo. That was just the market this year. In 2017 it was 25 M and in 2015 it was 22 M. The increase from Wilson (22 M) to Carr (25 M) was the pretty much the same same as the increase from Carr to Cousins (28 M). It's roughly 12% each time.

Rodgers and Ryan are not 2nd contracts so they are whole other animals.
