You know, for the ticket buying fans that ultimately pay the freight?
Rule Number One in business is to “Give the customer what he wants”.
It’s a no brainer if one is thinking fan/viewer value. 2PS + 18 reg season package beats 4PS + 16 reg season games every time.
Even Jerry Jones is on board. [

Not everybody is, of course. But let’s face it. This current PS format is a travesty from a fan’s pov. And shouldn’t the NFL be thinking about their fans desires, especially these days?
Remember when they used to shove 6 exhibition games down our throats every year? Remember how much better 4 was? Well, I predict the same warm and fuzzy feelings with 2 PS games.
For those hand wringing about player safety? Please...
The NFL is an entertainment industry and the players are very well compensated for their risk.
For those fretting that the extra 2 PS games are necessary to prepare the starters for opening day? C’mon...
First of all, the starters are scarcely playing in PS games anymore, anyway, and even then it’s in ultra vanilla mode. The real prep is in practices and scrimmages far away from the TV cameras.
Secondly, HS and colleges don’t have a single PS game and not only do they do all right, but the fans love it.
There is a better way sitting right under their noses and the league and players should take it.
