Reg season + Play-offs get us well over 20+ games as it is right now.
Even
not making the play-offs...each team with the PS currently plays 20 games regardless. Why not make them matter?!!
I think converting the 4 PS games to reg season ones and making the season 20games is a fine solution....and I don't know too many drawbacks. I'd increase the roster limit to 63 and have a PS squad at 10 still to help with the play counts for the players along with 2 Bye weeks mixed in. Doing that - a 20 game reg season - with increased rosters allows for a win-win for everyone. imo The owners and players get more money and have more chances to start or play...the TV revenue is higher with more games that matter....and I'd think a bigger middle class of players would emerge. I just think injuries suck...but injuries for a meaningless game are abominable and a waste.
just my opinion...
what are the drawbacks to a 20 games reg season and increased roster size?? Injuries? Couldn't they be minimized by increasing rosters and keeping play-counts reasonable? Also, allowing many back-ups to get more playing time and development....it's just that the games would ALL matter.
thots/rebuttals anyone?? I'm curious what the true disagreements are and if there's a good compromise in there somewhere!
