But, of course, eliminating preseason and keeping the schedule to 16, (I think 18 too many), I realize $'s come into play. I liked the idea about just re-allocating the money to the actual games but don't think it would work.. fans would go psycho.

So I have no answer, not even a suggestion... well, yes to a suggestion... eliminate preseason, keep the schedule at 16, absorb the loss in the revenue. I'm sure the owners will go for that. - JamesJM
