There was no connection between my 2 sentences. 2 sep comments.

He said something in one interview that coaching is not the 'be all, end all" (major paraphrase). He is way too intense
to keep this up for so long (20+ years). Vermeil, Gibbs and Walsh are examples of guys who saw the big picture and retired. When Vermeil came back he still made crazy hours....it can't last in these days because of the press, and the many options that coaches can do that are still exciting, but not the hours.

Gibbs

I see McVay right there with them.

Look at Gibbs' first year, 1981 year: he had a lot of talent on that team, and he got them 0-5, then 8-3. McVay took a beat up franchise and turned them into gold. And, it ain't going away.
