But then last year the Rams were 4th in sacks and 4th in sack percentage and they had no real edge rusher (for a lot of reasons including Ebukam being a rookie).

That's why having the best interior rusher in the game is so valuable.

And yes add a real edge rusher to that this year, and look out.
