Good point about the play calling. Super vanilla. Why? Well, probably he doesn't want to show any of his "real" offense, but he's going to run he same plays as last season so DC will study that film. So, I don't see the point. Not playing your starters to prevent injury I get but don't agree with either. He benched the starters against the Niners in the last week and we looked rusty in losing to the Falcons in the playoffs. I don't like that as a strategy. I like the idea of this week we're playing team X and we expect to win. Piling up All Pros in their casual clothes on the sidelines while our backups get embarrassed on the field is awful. And if you want to argue that the game doesn't count because it's not real fine. But, then why do fans have to pay full game ticket prices to see it? Why is it televised? If people are going to say that this is a Los Angeles Rams game we should see the Los Angeles Rams. Goff, Gurley, Cooks, Woods, Kupp and our whole OL. On D, Suh, Brockers, our terrific secondary and our young LBs. And of course AD who has a contract but doesn't show up. I actually don't care that the Ravens beat up bench guys and guys who will get cut. I do care that we don't want to show the world how good we should be. It was a 3-hour torchure session. And for what? All of our backups could have suffered injuries and then we would have no depth. Besides Whit most of this team is pretty young. Is is so likely that if our starters played the first quarter that they would all get lost for the year with horrible injuries? Couldn't the OL play one quarter? Maybe you don't start TG30. That I could understand, but how is he supposed to get in a running rhythm with no practice games? Love our HC. He is awesome, but I think he can overthink situations. He has all aces this season. We should win 'em all, if he plays them right.
