My wife and I live in south OC (San Juan Capistrano) and can get to downtown L.A. in less that 45 min. The secret is we take freeways to the City of Industry I.e. LB freeway, etc) and then take the side streets through the main industrial section (Bandini blvd. etc) which on Sundays are totally empty. We park in a downtown shopping parking lot near Macy's and take the Metro to the Coliseum. Only issue is after the game having to stand in line for the east bound Metro. We try and have dinner someplace in L.A. (Taylor's ?) and then its a smooth and quiet ride home. Makes for a nice day-except for the price of tickets !
