As Coach came on the scene he had this guy getting money and he needed to use him simply because of the money being spent. The bad luck of TA having wrist issues and whatever else put not only him but McVey at problems. As a PR he was just destroying the team.....as a WR he just either was never taught the difference from college to pro (my opinion is that was his issue)....or he couldn't grasp the ideas.
That left him as a kinda weird type player who has speed, but at the same time the speed with Fish was never found.....by the time Sean came on board TA just was not there when he needed to be there because of his injury status. Kinda funny but IMO Bailey was so much more a WR prospect under Fisher, but he just never got him on the field.....An issue that I had with him as a HC with several players.....
A guy with speed can't start from a standing position and get going.....They would seem to use him on patterns where he would go out to the flat, turn around, stop and wait for the ball..by then he would be surrounded and he would do zip ( and all this would be behind the LOS). Even with his sweep stuff used by Sean last year...the guy just seems to lack something inert to a guy who feels the game....
As a PR he had some great returns messed up by penalties (and some of those I questioned), but he just never got the idea of going forward with the ball...he seems to be better suited to the CFL...where they have a wider field to work with....the guy loves to run laterally IMO.....that's why using him on jet sweeps make him a good option....he's running laterally from the get go...
That said got to give him thumbs up for never getting involved in bad conduct...and not causing ripples within the team...Wish him luck in Cowgirl world....but I just don't see it happening......He is what he is....I am a believer in that you just can't change a person....they are what they seem (act) to be......
