Just by my eyes, when I watch Goff in the redzone, especially about 10 yards out, I feel very confident that he will convert for six points. However, in the last 2 minutes of a game when Goff isn't close to the redzone, I don't feel nearly as confident that he will do well. I would expect the stats to back up what my eyes see.

I think Goff processes very quickly in tight quarters, but he has yet show that he is very good at making big plays with a lot of space in front of him specifically in the 4th quarter when the game is close. That's not to say that he hasn't done it, but he hasn't done it consistently and I'll bet his stats in those situations are not good. Goff is not a physical freak that can create plays with his feet or strength like Wentz has done, so he has to get it done by improving where he goes with the ball when there is so much room to work with.

Well he went 11-4 in regular season as starter so he made plenty of big plays and actually lead the NFL in YPC at 12.9.
In the four losses he did have his faults, but it wasn't all on Goff.

vs Redskins he did have a game ending INT

vs Seahawks he played well enough in that final drive to win that game, but we all know what happened.

vs Vikes it seemed to be a complete team letdown, versus a very good defense....the Kupp fumble was huge imo.

vs Eagles he played his ass off and put up 35 on a team that wasn't used to having 35 hung on them, unfortunately our defense was having issues trying to get Foles off the field and we lost a game to the eventual Super Bowl champs....no shame in that.

In the playoff loss he was actually pretty clutch in that game, considering we had the ball only 15 minutes compared to Ryan who had it 45 minutes. We still outgained them in total yards.
The three drops by Higbee, Watkins and Watkins in the end zone at the end of the game didn't help his cause.

I expect Goff to get better and better as the years go on.....early reports from OTA's sound like he is throwing darts.

I think Goff needs to (and likely can) improve in the final quarter "game winning drive/comeback" situation.

I don't give him credit for the final minutes against Phil and I don't put all of that on the defense. The Rams got the ball twice in the final 8 minutes, once with a 1 point lead and a chance to put the game away, and once down by just 2. One drive led to a sack/fumble and another to a 3 and out.

I just know that good clutch qbs come through when they have to. So far Goff is not that (or not ENOUGH that) but that is not to say he can't be. Some of the Phil game and the failure to pull that game out goes on him. It just does...saying anything else IMO just would not be objective.

The Rams played 5 tough games last year which I am defining as being against an opponent with a winning record, a good offense, and a top 10 defense. Those games were Jax, Minn, NO. Phil, and Atlanta. Rams went 2-3 in those games and according to my gradebook Goff played well in 1 of them. Against NO, Goff came through. Against Jax, special teams won that game. Against Minn and Atlanta, Goff played below his own standard, though those games were not solely on him (not by a longshot). Against Phil, he came back from a poor start (by my quick count he was 7 of 16 in the first half with 1 passing TD and 4 punts coming after 3rd down passing plays). He did play quite well in the 2nd half until the final 8 minutes (as I said).

With more seasoning the team can do better in those kinds of tough games and in particular with seasoning Goff can do better in those kinds of games.
