The operative words in your post were “long as possible”.

Yeah, the contracts can be massaged to make them as friendly as possible up to a point and for just so long. And Demoff is a master at cap management.

But cap contracts are still a zero sum game when all is said and done. Ultimately, a loaded roster will require excruciating trades and/or releases in order to stay below the ceiling.

Parity comes at a cost. Sigh...

BTW, I don’t think that Gurley is the most important part of the O. That would be Goff. The only really “must have” on this team.
