Playing 4 years of college football is HUGE.........You get "veteran" players who have been challenged mentally and physically. You get a more "mature" athlete that is willing to take some "advice" from coaches instead of thinking you know it all already.
Lastly...........And I think this is the most important point.........You get players that have endured 4 years of football and have played through injuries. Some, have proven to be injury free........That say's a lot about the player......Being able to be ready, week in and week out, throughout a 4 year college career.
Reliability, dependability and keeping yourself in shape to be playing each Saturday.
