i still dont know what this means
I did normal hit rate. Starters, significant contributors. Percentage of starts when on the roster. That kind of thing.
starters....when? 2017? all 16 games? ever?
significant contributor...this is very subjective. how do you define this?
percentage of starts.....ok whats the cut of for a hit? 50 percent?
I have to get into a long discussion of what hit percentage means, after already saying it's starters and significant contributors?
Simple.
Is Givens a starter or significant contributor in the league measured across time?
Is Tru Johnson?
Given all that I don't count Mannion as a hit. We have no idea if he's a player or not, as opposed to just a body on a team.
This is how I've used the term "hit percentage" every single time I and others used that term, which is multiple, going back years and years. I just thought the term was obvious. It has certainly come up hundreds and hundreds of times over the years.
To me "still in the league" means nothing. It's too vague and amorphous. I don't count mere bench warmers as "hits." It also makes it very demanding to do prior years (eg. 2006-2008).
If you use that criterion, more power to you, but it just means we're using different methods.
Which is cool because different people approaching this with different methods is actually really informative and useful.
