The evidence from silence often confuses, so this might just be an explanation without need -- as most of mine are. It's also a sure bet that when you have to explain a joke, it's already failed.

So, anyway . . . I claim, you know, that I hate lists, and then proceed to make a list. Isn't that hysterical? Well, I probably could have spent more time making the list itself funnier, though I think a line here and there wasn't too bad.

But if no one got that, well, it's my fault. All mine. And if they did "get it" and just said, meh, it's still my fault.

I'll try to do better next time, if there is a next time, though my attempts at humor often fail to hit their mark. Like this one:

I've been seeing a lot of doctors lately, and each time I visit, the receptionist will ask me for my address. I give her my mailing address, which is a PO Box. But then I tell her I don't actually, like, live there. It's a bit too small.

They never get it at first, until I smile at them. Then it hits them, and they laugh.
