Just how precious and important very high picks are.
Those guys taken in the first 50 or so picks are special athletes, and you can't get those picks wrong if you want to be successful in the NFL.
Most times you get 2 shots at them and thats it. Once you get past that, you are dealing with superb athletes but they all have warts of some kind. And this is the NFL where those warts get exposed pretty quickly if you don't fix them just as quickly.
I have no idea how many of these guys will be significant contributors, the norm is about 3 of them at best, so that's what I'm hoping for. That's the reality regardless of what the pundits say. I mean, I keep hearing the term "stud" thrown around for guys taken in the 7th round. Please spare me the super hype on guys who will most likely be gone by the end of August.
