Franklin went to high school in Greenville, Tex., but he was born in LA and has family here.

Franklin said he played standup defensive end, outside linebacker in coverage and three-technique in a different scheme during his time at Stephen F Austin.

John Franklin did not play in the Senior Bowl, but he did have a Top 30 visit with the Rams.
