Can not disagree with any of that logic on drafting a QB. One that I have on my radar and could be had with one of those 6th round picks is the kid from Troy U. Brandon Silvers, saw him twice this yr. and the thing that stands out about him is his quick release. Obviously very raw but as a 6th round pick I think Mcvay and his coaches can mold this kids talent in to some thing special
I think he ran, and mastered, offenses under four OCs then went to the Senior Bowl and quickly picked up Bill O’Brian’s offense (obviously abbreviated but still better then the big school guys). Timing and progressions are his biggest plusses. He's calm in the pocket and can maneuver in it. He doesn't have the big measurables or arm needed to be a high pick from a small school
