I know a lot of people want to fire Snead still to this day for this pick.... and yes, in hindsight it was a horrible pick, but at the time it was a good pick and not one person in the media shook their head at that pick. Mayock raved about him "Orlando Pace"
Anyone who is after a GM because of one miss just lacks any seriously real sense of perspective.
Same draft they got the only elite DT since Warren Sapp.
Notice it wasn't that hard to replace GR. Well there is no other AD.
Meanwhile, 2 important things.
1. It was starting in 2013-14 that first round OL started to become a lot iffier than they had been. GR is not the only bust or disappointment.
2. Snead's overall hit percentage is good, regardless of any other consideration.
Yeah, it's a bit myopic when people rant about his misses, but fail to acknowledge all of the hits.
First rounders have only about a 50% hit rate and it just gets worse from there.... Snead is well ahead of the curve when it comes to his drafting.
It's just too bad there were NO QB's in the 2014 draft, we would have had even more picks and would have lucked out by missing a chance to draft Grob.
