Yes I'm being dramatic and I like Cooks for us, but as a draft geek I just felt like I got robbed. lol If I were really sold on any draft prospect @ 23 I might have been upset, but I was stuck on Landry and he just never moved the needle for me.
So the obvious glaring holes are on D now ... and I'm giving up my OT position this year because it makes no sense to draft it given the quality of the class next year. I have 5-7 first rounders next year coming down the pipe ...
So, here we go
3) Kemoko Turay rOLB ... super talented kid a little raw ... but not as raw as Ebukam last year. Note .. if Okoronkwo or Sweat makes it here I draft them. I think they would have to move up to get him, unless those shoulder injuries scare teams off.
4) Micah Kiser/Josey Jewell ... one should be there. I like both. Sold
4) Will Clapp Interior lineman ... can play OC. Ready to play if someone goes down and ready to take over next year on the interior. Austin Corbett is also in play here. I prefer Corbett, but any OL depth here is needed. Or maybe a TE that slides?
4) Nyeim Hines/Jaylen Samuel RB ... backup and pass catcher. One should be there. I can see a RB here, not sure on Samuel. Hoping Walton falls...
6) Devonte Lumpkin/Khalil McKenzie NT True NT at 6-2 340 jumped early and didn't get a combine invite. Sounds good
6) Saeed Blacknall/Javon Wims WR like both, height weight speed guys with asterisks no more WRs unless they are redzone targets.
6) Ryan Izzo/Durham Smythe TE Carrier role players who could develop. Great pick
6) Davin Bellamy/Ben Neimann ... severely underrated LBs that cold slide .. Neimann didn't even get a combine invite ... so rude. I want another edge rusher here.
Okay so ... I feel like this could keep us on track.
Notable exceptions ... a trade up for Crosby? I can't see him getting out of round 2. Tony Adams has been linked to us ... so he may be a 6th round pick and our 4th may be spent someone where other than Clapp. I agree on Crosby, I like Adams, gives you a OC/OG combo,
And my favorite "wait don't forget" Is Ike Boettger the OT from Iowa who was injured this year ... Boettger is a RT only, but should be there in the 6th.
Thoughts and comments welcome.
He's gotta be gone well before that...no? If not, throw him high on my underrated list
