I was and still am a huge advocate to franchising Sammy Watkins and taking my chances with Joyner. Watkins was just "raw" talent that had potential to be great at every facet of the game, another poster mentioned how great of a blocker he was and we do not talk about that enough. However, McVay worked with him every day on every play, and the way he talks about Cooks, who I am a huge fan of too, is he serves a purpose in this system, he is "smart" he has been in several systems and has excelled in all of them. You can not be dumb or just an athlete in Mcvay's system.
I loved what he said about Cooks and I would love if it works out to get TA the ball in space from the slot but you need to be student of the game to be in McVay's offense. Everytime I hear from McVay I like like him that much more.
