Assuming he will produce...
If they don't sign him long term and don't win a Super Bowl, this trade is a failure.
Another one year rental, now for a #1 pick, is stupid. And getting a 3rd rounder back means zilch in the analysis of this trade.
Contribute and sign...if not...they rolled craps.
You have to "roll the die" to hit the jackpot. We have "rolled the die" before but this time the die are "loaded" (ProBowl caliber players) where as before we never seemed to be willing to go "all out" so we'd acquire mediocre talent. Where did that get us? Years of losing and mediocre teams lol. To win big, you have to play big and the Rams are doing just that. It doesn't guarantee anything but it sure increases your chances.
I disagree that if we don't win a SB it's a failure. How many times have we used a first round pick on a player who did nothing and got us nowhere? If this trade would be a failure, so were all those other choices. Draft picks don't guarantee anything either. They are all based on potential. All the players we have brought in are PROVEN. Proven > Potential every time.
I'll take the "gambling" Rams as opposed to the old conservative Rams of years gone by every time. Gotta love the new attitude and aggressiveness! Now let's go and try and get us a SB!!!
#HelmetHornsMatter
“Well, the color is good, I like the metallic blue,” Youngblood recently said while laughing, via NFL Journal. “The horn is terrible. It looks like a ‘C.’ When I first saw it on the logo I honestly thought it was a Charger logo.
“Now when I see it on the helmet, it just isn’t a ram horn. There is no distinct curl like a mature ram horn. I don’t know how the Rams could get that wrong. That is your symbol and it has been for what? Seventy years or more? Longer than I have been alive? It’s just not us, it’s not the Rams.”---Mr. Ram Jack Youngblood
