would miss way too often and therefore didn't try it, it was too easy to pick up yards on the 3 receiver side, so he kept going there, which is smart, take it as long as they give it to you, but Goff didn't like to air it out deep, he missed too often and got gunshy. No reflection on Watkins there, just a young quarterback taking what the defense gives him, which is a good thing, but it doesn't mean Watkins was deficient.
