Raiders get a 5th & 6th rounder in return.
Have to make you think of the Pats had ANY interest in Tavon.
They seem to have laid a bad egg with the value they got for Jimmy G but Those "Pesty smart Pats" continue to dial up another life line..
Recently they pulled off a trade with the Browns that may or may not be an impact move but I understood it and quietly applauded them. The Cleveland Browns facilitated the trade of cornerback Jason McCourty to the New England Patriots for essentially nothing.
Cleveland will shed $2.9 million from their salary cap but it left even more uncertainty at the position. ESPN's Bill Barnwell gave the Patriots an A+ for the deal while the Browns get a D+.
"By all accounts, McCourty had an unexpectedly impressive season at cornerback for the Browns last year after being released by Tennessee.
The 30-year-old seemed like a logical candidate to stick in the starting lineup for Cleveland in 2018, but after signing TJ Carrie and Terrance Mitchell, general manager John Dorsey reportedly told McCourty that he wasn't guaranteed to make the 53-man roster in September and offered him a chance to leave," Barnwell said.

The Pats again make another ho hum trade that might mean nothing by adding Cordelle Patterson to their 2018 roster? Not really big splash moves but these kind of transactions are worthy to keep an eye on and there is a good chance one of them ends up being a good fit and impacts their 2018 season.
