At this point, the Rams would have an interest to NOT be active in free agency if they sign anyone at all because with the loss of TruJ and Watkins, they may get two 3rd round picks next draft.
Anyone they sign can lesson that return.
Is it a matter of raw incoming vs outgoing FA signings, dz?
Or does the relative value of each become a determining factor? Starter vs backup, I mean?
The first requirement is they have to lose more than they gain.
But relative value as measured by length of contract and total value of contract are also big factors. I don't recall if playing time - i.e. starter vs. backup - is a factor or not.
