Sammy Watkins, WR: He’s young, he’s fast, he’s big, he’s gifted. He’s everything that you want in No. 1 receiver – except that he hasn’t proven he can be a No. 1 receiver. DeAndre Hopkins, for example, made a statement to the league by putting up production, no matter who was at quarterback (except for under Brock Osweiler). Watkins, on the other hand, looks greatly impacted by his signal caller. And even in the Rams system, he didn’t explode.
Get Sammy 150 targets (which is Hopkins avg per yr) and see what he does.
Heck Hopkins got 192 targets in 2015 and scored 11 TD's.
Sammy got 70 targets and scored 8 TD's.
Who's more efficient? Not who's better...who's more efficient? These writers never take the time to really evaluate the numbers.
Hopkins got 176 targets last season, give Sammy that many targets and see what he puts up.
Hopkins is a great receiver but they force the action with him and get him the ball.A perfect example of why I never like to compare across systems.
