7% sounds about right. Late in the draft it is a crap shoot. There are probably 100 or so similarly talented people that will be UFA of which we may sign 5 or 6 if we are lucky. So between late round picks and UFA we may have between 8 to 12 shots at players that have a skill set that gives them a realistic chance of making the roster. If we got 1 starter out of that group it would be a home run especially on this team. Most likely we get a few guys that can contribute on special teams with a couple of them who can develop into full time players down the road.
Les does a pretty good job picking and McVay seems to be a guy who can develop talent so perhaps we do better than 7% but even if you are twice as good as the rest of the league you are still only looking at a 14% rate.
