Good grief.
POSSIBLY (and I underline, POSSIBLY) losing Watkins is suddenly the Achilles Heel of McVay's offense.
A guy catches 39 passes for under 600 yards and a few TDs and suddenly he's the key to the offense? And if he were to go, our offense is doomed? Several months before training camp?
I don't want to have to; but Watkins is replaceable. I got laughed at but I'll say again: I like Paul Richardson. Slick, good hands, wins 50-50 balls. Good speed, gets deep. He won't cost nearly what Watkins will cost.
For me, however, I want to major upgrade at TE. I want a true Red Zone weapon of a TE. If we could get Graham and Richardson for just a bit more than what we'd have to pay for Sammy, I'd do that all day long.
