Because see the guys making that decision are not message board fans that don't study tape or evaluate talent for a living.
Anybody with a cursory knowledge of the game can see beyond the STATS when evaluating tape.
Its really malpractice on the OC's part when you have a receiver that had better than 90% catch to TD ratio in the redzone and you don't give him more targets.
BUT what is continually amazing to ME is that even for the people that don't really know the game ignore visual proof put before them.
Its like it either doesn't exist or people think to believe half of what they hear and none of what they see.
Really perplexing.
But you know what, maybe I'm looking at this all wrong.
I guess it beats seeing something that's not really there then giving it a $42M contract over 4 years!
