just looking at playoff teams from a month or so ago and many like the Eagles, Pats, Vikings, Titans, Chiefs etc. had a good tight end
also think it helps a young QB....the TE in SF was good an I'm sure Ertz, Walker and Witten have helped out their QBs
not saying to put it priority over CB, LB etc, but I do think McVay wants to bring in a vet while Everett develops
I think Higbee is a JAG
You glom on to one example but I started with the GSOE and worked forward.
The GSOE is a GREAT example because what we see in today's game is in response to what the Rams did in 1999-2001The dominant 11 personnel sets on offense coupled with the rise in nickel defenses and good slot corners, is in direct response to what the Rams did.So the Rams were front runners in reintroducing a version of the Air Coryell offense that we see in abundance today.
Eagles used a good te because they're outside receivers are average.
Titans and Chiefs? Did exactly what the Rams did...1st rd and out!!
And weren't the Rams offense better than those two offenses?
A few less drops and fumbles and the Rams probably get a 1st rd bye.
All the Rams need on offense is for the o-line to continued to be developed and Goff to improve.
Best,
