I think a big advantage for the Rams and key to their success that I hope they maintain was being strong in all three phases. They were a top 5 offense, top 10 defense and top 2 special teams unit. Very few teams were good like that across the board. Even down to position groups there was no area really where they were truly bad.
A lot of points given up in the playoffs. Crazy year. But the Vikings, Jaguars, Saints and Eagles were all legit top 10 defenses and that's part of what got those teams there.
I never considered the Patriots even a top 20 defense even though their scoring/red zone defense was good. Aside from Trey Flowers, Malcolm Brown, Hightower, Gilmore, McCourty and Harmon they need probably 5 new starters on that defense. James Harrison was their best LB by season's end...
