Has the NFL ever had a contract with Opt out Clause as with other sports?
I wonder if Watkins would do like a 3 year deal with a prorated signing bonus that isn't as lucrative, but if the Rams make the playoffs and he gets 1000 yards, he gets the ability to Opt out of the contract where he returns a portion of the bonus and can seek to redo the contract with the Rams.
To me that would be a win, win. He proves his foot is ok, he can clean up, and can learn the offense and judge a ball again and he gets a crack at top 10 WR money, but in the meantime signs a contract more in line with Woods type contract, maybe a little more with the inflation being a year later.
