There MUST be something about Cousins that causes Gruden and company to have major doubts.
Alex Smith operated very well in an Andy Reid brand of WCO; but how will that play out in the Gruden offense?
Alex Smith will be 34 years old to begin the next season, of which the Redskins have essentially guaranteed 100% of his salary through the age of 37. It's not that he is "old" per the new QB standards, but he is certainly on his way.
Could it be that Cousins' agents have laid how much they want on the table, and it is several million per year more than Smith?
And if it is, say in the $28- 30 million per year range, would anyone actually give Cousins that kind of money...with, no doubt, most of it guaranteed?
Interesting.
