Maybe he will. Who knows. Though going into his 7th season he likely realizes this is the last 'big' contract he'll see. Would he take a Logan Ryan-type deal (3 yrs/$30M)? If so, great... If he wants Stephon Gilmore money (5 yrs./$65M), bye-bye...
Let's assume they can retain Joyner for what Rodney McLeod got in Philly- around 5 yrs./$35M. Let's also say they give Robey-Coleman a good raise (from $775k to 2 yrs./~$4M). That is far better value with money to spare vs. what Johnson (presumably) wants.
Again part of this is whether Phillips is going to say he's an essential piece of the defense and a great fit that he needs back. My guess is not.
