It seems that WRs who are better route runners are going to be targeted more. Players like Austin seemingly have no significant role in regard to direct production.
Hard to argue with an offense that lead the league in scoring. And adding that it's the first year in the offense but I'm not sure how much that matters.
It appears that the Rams will have a philosophy that will place higher grades on players who fit the scheme than overall talent. Adding Watkins may not be the best use of the cap. Certainly there is almost no place for Austin except for possibly vet minimum.
I'm disappointed that it seems like that's McVay's process because I would really like to see what Watkins and even Austin can do. But like I said it's hard to argue with an offensive philosophy that gets the team from worst to first in one season.
