Rams likely to need two new starting CBs

January 09, 2018 08:28AM
I did some checking and it seems that Achilles injuries can be pretty serious things to overcome.

It is said in the NBA and the NFL 36% of those players with that injury never play in that sport again.

Of the remainder, it is unlikely that the Achilles will ever return to full strength.

And that for it to reach a place where the player can reasonably play takes a full year or more.

That means that the Rams are VERY unlikely to keep Webster. He would be a $500K cap hit with a $3.1 mil savings if they cut him.

So even though Hill is playing well, I'm still not sure that he's anymore than a 3rd CB.

So assuming TruJ is gone, I see the Rams needing to acquire 2 new CBs of starting quality. Perhaps one through the draft, but the other through FA.

Might they go after Butler?

Webster is probably done for his career.
