I have seen this happen time and time again across a range of sports.

I've seen golf tournaments disrupted by newly laid greens, soccer pitches get chewed up when they laid new sod for a major tournament and there was even a problem at Wimbledon a few years ago.

You'd think although laying new sod can never be an exact science when you're dealing with nature, that it would be fairly precise and that if there was ANY possibility of what happened happening they would err on the side of caution.



There is nothing either good or bad, but thinking makes it so.
