I just think it starts with crediting Atlanta who came out and played very physical, tackled
extremely well, and their experience did show. That secondary played one heck of a game.
You can't win a playoff game being -2 in TOs...
For the 1st time this year special teams let them down and they got outplayed there. Cooper was getting tagged on every return.
The Rams OL also just got beat last night. Gurley didn't have much room and the Falcons made Goff uncomfortable most of the night.
I do think the team needs someone that's a strong situational run defender. Losing Brockers hurt but that was not a big factor in my opinion. Tanzel Smart could get stronger and add 10 lbs. and maybe takes on more of that NT role in 2018. I think as a lot of rookies do he wore down late in the season. Maybe they find someone else in FA too.
It seemed like one of those games that the Rams pass rush had Ryan in their sights play after play but
just missed him about 10 times. Similar to the Eagles game.
I take solace in what was a really great, fun season and that they have the foundation all contending teams need- a really good coach and QB combination, plus the best RB in the league and best defensive player in the league. A lot went right for this team- they were very healthy all year for one. But I was just not as disappointed after the game as I thought I'd be. Maybe in part because, again, they just got beat. And also because either way I was pretty certain their season would end next Sunday @MIN. But this was not a team that was lucky to get there. They were one of the top 6 teams in the NFL all season and they have the core and the tools (draft picks and cap space) to keep this going for a long time. Nothing is guaranteed in the NFL but I firmly think this is a team that's on the rise.
Thanks for a great year 2017 Rams... Onward and upward...
