Since the modern playoff format was set into place, there have only been TWO times where a #1 or #2 seed did NOT host their conference championship game. TWO TIMES. Once was a #3 and once a #4. Those odds just aren't worth taking a chance by playing starters who could benefit from the rest. We all know NFL means not for long. I agree with McVay's decision. Focus on winning the first game first. With our road record, I like our chances after that.
